The NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Installation Occupations (Construction) qualification has seven specialisms/pathways of which Door, Gate and Shutter Systems (Installation) is one of them.

The NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Installation Occupations (Construction) -Door, Gate and Shutter Systems (Installation) pathway has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means the learner needs to be employed to undertake this pathway.

This pathway enables the learner to demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate their competence in a real workplace environment so that the learner can install door, gates and shutter systems.

The learner will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area (Recommended Qualification Structure for Specialist Installation Occupations (Construction) Level 2).

The learner will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with the learner and help the learner complete the pathway.

This pathway supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:

-Servicing and maintaining or commissioning door, gate or shutter systems in the workplace
-Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
-Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
-Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace.

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in one of these optional units:

-Installing shutter systems in the workplace
-Installing door and gate systems in the workplace.

Learners may learn the Additional Units however it will not count towards the achievement of the pathway.

-Using manual metal arc welding equipment
-Using semi-automatic MIG or MAG welding equipment
-Installing door, blind or shutter wiring systems in the workplace.

Qualification Structure

Description: To achieve this qualification a minimum of 5 units need to be attained. This comprises the 4 units from the Mandatory Group plus 1 unit from the Optional Unit Group. Learners may complete the Additional Units however it will not count towards the achievement of the pathway.
